Management Description

Sue Shi has already set up part of her team for The Sushi Experience. She is very lucky in that her chosen president complements her skills. They have worked together on many occasions in the past – both for other companies and on a free lance basis. A successful local agency based in Gateshead has agreed to work with The Sushi Experience on a project basis. It regards The Sushi Experience as a potential key account. Sue has presented the organizational structure of her company below.

Choice A

CEO Sue Shi
Sue graduated from the internationally recognized Sushi Academy of Japan in Tokyo and immediately began working in a sushi restaurant chain, Hosomaki, as a sushi chef. After three years of intensive training and perfecting techniques, she transferred to a Japanese gourmet restaurant supplier in London, Aji-no-Moto. Here she headed a team of sushi chefs for a further three years. Aji-no-Moto expanded rapidly during this period and supplied sushi restaurants and gourmet shops nationwide. Quality control fell into Sue Shi’s hands. Sue also has contacts at all levels on the sushi wholesale market. As CEO Sue Shi will be responsible for company operations, market development and strategy.

Vice President Ama Ebi
Ama Ebi was vice president of operations at Aji-no-Moto International in London. After graduating in Business Studies at Coventry University, she worked as a buyer for sushi and sashimi ingredients. The company expanded rapidly and Ama exploited this to cut buying costs. She was then promoted to chief buyer and oversaw delivery and supply of gourmet restaurant products. She was responsible for ensuring quality and freshness. Her areas of responsibility at The Sushi Experience will be operations, quality control, design and packaging. She will report to the CEO.

Sales Manager
The perfect candidate for this position will have contacts in the sushi and sashimi distribution market and experience in acquisition of food retailers, wholesalers and caterers. His/her responsibilities will include setting up new customers as key accounts, customer service, customer relations, marketing and product presentation. The sales manager is responsible to the CEO.


Choice B

CEO Sue Shi
Sue is a graduate of the internationally recognized Sushi Academy of Japan in Tokyo, a qualified sushi chef and former head of production at a Japanese gourmet restaurant supplier for the whole of the UK. In her role as CEO at The Sushi Experience, Sue Shi will be responsible for company operations, company strategy and market development. Sue has numerous contacts at all levels of the gourmet restaurant wholesale market and has gained valuable experience in quality control in sushi production.

Vice President Ama Ebi
Ama Ebi will be responsible for operations, quality control, design and packaging. She will report directly to the CEO. Ama Ebi is the former vice president of operations at Aji-no-Moto International where she was responsible for ensuring supply and delivery of quality and fresh products to gourmet restaurants.

Sales Manager
The perfect candidate for this position will have contacts in the sushi and sashimi distribution market and experience in acquisition of food retailers, wholesalers and caterers. His/her responsibilities will include setting up new customers as key accounts, customer service, customer relations, marketing and product presentation. The sales manager is responsible to the CEO.


Choice C

CEO Sue Shi
As CEO, Sue Shi will be in charge of everything which happens at the company. Her vision for The Sushi Experience is based on her experience at Aji-no-Moto.

Vice President Ama Ebi
Ama Ebi will be responsible for operations. She has already gained experience in this area.

Sales Manager
Sue Shi is currently looking for a suitable candidate.
