Situation 4: Decisions about the site

John Jones, a government inspector, is talking to Mary Smith from the County Council.
Mary Smith explains the council’s opinion saying that the wind turbines will produce excessive noise. Their position is to withhold planning permission.
The government inspector reviews the options open to him and gives the results of tests from other sites. He awards planning permission with the condition that the developers meet noise control standards.
